About Me...

I'm a Climate Doctor

It’s sort of an unofficial title, but there are a lot of us out there not really knowing what to call ourselves.

I’m a board-certified, Emergency Medicine physician practicing in community settings. I also completed a fellowship in climate medicine and currently work as a climate and health advocate.

In other words, when you cut your hand on a can opener at 3 o’clock in the morning and go to the ER, I’m the doctor that sees you – and I also care about climate change and how it’s affecting your health.

I work in three different hospital emergency departments and one urgent care clinic. I give lectures across the country in various formats and design educational materials on the topics of planetary and human health, health equity, and sustainable health care delivery. I started this blog in an attempt to marry my two callings in life and to inject (haha) some humor into these very complicated and sobering topics of health care and climate change.

I’m also a cat-mom of 3, a dog-mom of 2, and a chicken-mom of 8.

And my final full disclosure, which may be difficult for some to stomach… I’m a millennial.
